Hi John Andersson,
I have read your post about helping some student translating some languages to Vietnamese. I am interest in translating from English to Vietnamese. You can contact me at dovanchinh@gmail.com or just click to view my profile at www.dovanchinh.com

- Hi Peter! We need help from Vietnamese Wikipedians for a couple of Vietnamese students that are learning Swedish. Do you mean that you are willing to help? You do not need to know Swedish, but you need to know how it works on vi.wikipedia. John Andersson (WMSE) (thảo luận) 08:07, ngày 26 tháng 9 năm 2013 (UTC)
Hi Mr. Andersson, My English name's Valentine. May I help you? Thái Nhi (thảo luận) 10:02, ngày 26 tháng 9 năm 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Valentine, if I understand you correctly you are willing to help guide the students here on viwp? Best, John Andersson (WMSE) (thảo luận) 10:17, ngày 27 tháng 9 năm 2013 (UTC)
- Someone had a question for you "It's a great idea, but a question quickly came to my mind: How can I review the translation, as I can't read Swedish? Gaconnhanhnhen (thảo luận) 07:28, ngày 29 tháng 9 năm 2013 (UTC)".Trongphu (thảo luận) 00:41, ngày 3 tháng 10 năm 2013 (UTC)
- We are willing to help guide your students on here. Thái Nhi (thảo luận) 01:19, ngày 3 tháng 10 năm 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you! That's great that you are willing to help! I guess Google Translate might work to some extent to see what they have translated, but the Vietnamese-Swedish sadly does not work very well. All participants are grown-ups that have volunteered to participate, so I don't think that anyone of them would add missleading information on purpose. - Thái Nhi, I added your name to the list here: meta:SFI/Faddrar. Kind regards, John Andersson (WMSE) (thảo luận) 09:51, ngày 3 tháng 10 năm 2013 (UTC)
- Well, I don't think anyone would add misleading on purpose, but it doesn't matter if they translate something wrong intentionally or unintentionally; it is still wrong anyway. I don't think any Vietnamese Wikipedia editors here know Swedish so no one would able to proofread the translations, so according to my understanding, all we, Vi Wikipedians, have to do is to help your students on technical supports, not with the translation, is that right? I guess we can trust each other and assume that your students would translate correctly most of the time. No one can avoid making careless mistakes when translating, even experts make mistakes. Therefore it is okay to make some minor translations once in a while. However, I still want to recommend that you should tell your Vietnamese students when they are translating, they should proof-check each other translation to avoid translation errors. I'm fluent in both English and Vietnamese. I'm an expert in editing on Wikipedia, but I have quit a while ago. I like to contribute anonymously now, so yea, I guess I can be one of those that are willing to help out your fellow students. Anyway, we need to know more about it though like when does it start? How many students are going to participate? What topic are they going to translate? I suggest that to keep things simply, all conversations and discussions revolving around this "Swedish to Vietnamese translation project" shall be discussed right on your talk page, so you and all your students would communicate with us through this page only. Thanks for your initiative. I can see a great potential in this project to help your students in learning and aslo expanding knowledge in Vietnamese!
